Held on January 19, 2024, this esteemed event recognized excellence in the digital realm. Our victory came with DNA Networks, recognized for excellence in corporate website design and Ekata Coffee awarded for the interactive website, marking another milestone in our relentless journey towards creative excellence.

Corporate Website for DNA Entertainment Networks

With a legacy spanning over three decades, DNA Entertainment Networks specialize in creating one-of-a-kind experiences that bring people together at a global level. In 1986, Dr. T Venkat Vardhan began his journey by securing the rights to air MTV’s top 20 music videos in india. His vision to introduce global experiences and passion for music led to the birth of DNA Networks – a pioneering force in the live music and events industry in India.
DNA manages major sports properties such as the IPL, ISL, Pro Kabaddi and more and has established strategic alliances with premier sporting associations like the BCCI, ICC, and Hockey India.

The main objective of this project was to ensure that the website has an interface that is up to industry standards in terms of its design, content structure and interactive elements. By combining innovative design elements with advanced functionality, we transformed DNA Networks’ online presence for an enhanced user engagement.

Interactive elements were strategically used only in pages where appropriate, avoiding overuse which could compromise usability and create performance issues. One of the standout pages is the Sports page, where the website highlights its past projects in the Sports category. The cards are aesthetically designed to resemble tickets, while the animation is seamless. Notably, the implementation of a circular cursor throughout the site facilitated smooth navigation and engagement for users.

An Experiential Website for Ekata Coffee

In 2016, Ekata Inc.was born out of this singular vision – to give the public access to organic, unadulterated coffee while playing their part in reversing the climate crisis through ethical farming practices. The founders of the company ventured out and found the ideal environments to grow organic coffee plantations, combining various climate-friendly, carbon-negative farming methods. Ekata Coffee cultivates premium quality coffee intercrops and natural produce biodynamically while adhering to the stringent Demeter organic farming standards, keeping their commitment to sustainability at the core.

Our requirement was to develop a website that provides the international visitors a virtual coffee journey that celebrates the brand’s unwavering dedication to authenticity and nature. We designed a compelling storyline that traces the coffee’s journey — from the nurturing hands that pick them to the intricate roasting process, culminating in that perfect brew.
As users navigate through the site, they are treated to a series of immersive experiences. The choice of a mixed palette for the website – green and black – is not just a design element but an experience in itself. Subtle animations, like flies flitting or leaves rustling, add layers of depth, enhancing the immersive forest experience. The typography complements the theme, with fonts that have an organic grunge and not the polished feel.

The site’s layout is as organic as the brand’s story. The website truly captures the essence of Ekata Coffee’s ethos and delights visitors with its immersive design and user-friendly interface.

The internet has been one of the most breakthrough inventions of the 20^th century. The internet has evolved quite a lot over the past two to three decades. As per the DataReportal, more than 4.88 billion people use the internet daily. 

Besides, more than 600,000 new users are accessing the internet each day. These numbers are staggering and provide the biggest audience for companies and organizations. Furthermore, the invention of social media has further fuelled the internet’s expansion and usage.

The Web’s evolution

Web 1.0 defined the first set of websites built in the 1990s. Unfortunately, the technologies used in designing these websites were novice and had less safety and security. In addition, these websites could only host text or image data as static file systems supported them. 

Thus, the content of the websites was static instead of dynamic HTML. 

Web 2.0

The dawn of the 21^st century saw significant improvements in internet technologies. Web 2.0 was the start of the interactive web. The website creation process became simple, and static content switched to dynamic with the integration of HTML technologies.

The integration of encryption technology enhanced the safety and security of the websites. The use of social media exploded, and applications like Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc., came into existence. 

Personalized marketing strategies were used to attract customers to various products and services.

Data breaches and hacking have become very common in Web 2.0. The user doesn’t have any control over the data on the web. It is mainly owned and controlled by the companies or organizations that have developed websites. We have also seen some negative consequences of freedom of speech expressions by people.

Web3 is a new version of the internet designed on the latest internet technologies like blockchain, decentralized networks, and bottom-up architecture. 

With decentralization, there is no central authority over data. Blockchain is a record-keeping technology that facilitates cryptocurrency transactions. All transactions can be tracked on a blockchain network. Thus, the risk and cost both decrease significantly.

The core of Web3 is built using distributed applications, also known as Dapps. The main advantage of this technology is that it is decentralized. The individuals get to own and control the information or data they share on the internet. 

Thus, data privacy is better because it’s stored in the blockchain. Meaning, it’s hard to tamper with the records.

Getting deep into Web 3

In Web3, the applications will be deployed on multiple servers, and the data will be stored in different databases. All the transactions are done on peer-to-peer nodes on decentralized networks. 

Thus, centralized authorities can’t regulate or dictate the transactions. Another benefit of Web3 is that it decentralizes finance transactions as well. 

With DeFi in place, these transactions are executed in real-time without the intervention of banks or governments. For example, Ethereum architecture uses smart contracts on the blockchain instead of financial bodies for executing transactions.

What is an SSL/TLS?

SSL (Secure Socket Layer)/TLS (Transport Layer security) are encryption-based internet security protocols that help with making sure data is not compromised. SSL/TLS are certificates that confirm the authenticity of business, eCommerce, or personal sites. SSL/TLS makes sure that data is encrypted when it is being transferred across computers on the network.

Does My Website need It anyway?

A simple answer is Yes. The SSL/TLS certificates make sure that the information that is shared on the website is secure. And with increased awareness about data protection and privacy. The need for secure websites is a must. People do not stay on a website that is not secure which in-turn affects the Website’s SEO. 

How does it affect SEO? Well, search engines consider something called the website’s bounce rate for SEO Ranking. Bounce Rate is the time that someone jumps out of a website after they view it. When people see that a particular site is not secure, they get off the site immediately, which in turn increases the website’s bounce rate and puts you at a lower ranking on SEO. Hence, it is advisable to get a valid SSL/TLS certificate for your website as it boosts your SEO, protects your data and also builds trust with your users.

Is an SSL expensive?

Yes and No. The SSL/TLS certificates are issued by various Certificate Authorities (CA). ‘Let’s Encrypt’ is an open CA that issues a basic SSL/TLS certificate at zero costs. Since they are a non-profit organization and want to make the internet a safe for everyone, they have come up with this initiative. However, the certificate they issue is a basic SSL/TLS certificate. Which is still good enough for small businesses and personal sites. But for a big business, eCommerce or banking sites, we recommend getting a higher validated certificate for which there is a reasonable cost from the paid CAs.

Limitations of Let’s Encrypt Certificate.

It is certain that a paid service triumphs free service anyday. Because, unlike the support we get from a paid service of validation, ‘Let’s Encrypt’ which is the free service might be constrained. The other aspect is that the lifespan of the certificate is only for 90days as opposed to a year or 2 for paid certificates. And finally, some additional features or value-added services will definitely be missing from a free service as opposed to the paid service.

Should I Choose The Paid or Free Service?

To answer that, we’ll have to understand certificate validations. DV (Domain Validation), OV (Organisational validation) and EV (Extended Validation) are the various kinds of SSL/TLS certificates that are offered. Because ‘Let’s Encrypt’ is a non-profit organization sponsored by many notable companies like Google, Mozilla, Wix.com, etc. they offer only the basic DV certificate which is suitable for personal sites or small businesses. But for Big corporations and professional businesses, it is advisable that you get a higher validation. As this will protect your data much better and you could always reach out for additional support incase of technical glitches.
